The day Senne committed to play for the Tigers, Minnesota assistant Rob Fornasiere called Jim Sonju, Senne's coach for seven seasons of high school and summer baseball.

Paid Election Letter ; Parry's Stance On Lease Proves Worth On Board
Editor, the Tribune: We respectfully urge a vote for Fred Parry for Boone Hospital Center's board of trustees. Fred and Bob McDavid's courageous and honorable service in challenging the status quo on the lease renewal recently was perhaps the most meaningful, brave and proper act of public service by any public servants, paid or otherwise, in recent memory.
Traditional Italian Eggplant Dish Gets a Less Oily Remake
Eggplant is like a sponge: The more oil you add to the pan, the more fat it sucks up. Coating the eggplant with bread crumbs or batter helps to provide a barrier. Oven-baking instead of frying or sauteing also keeps the fat absorbed to a bare minimum.

Homemade in Minutes ; Wake Up to Egg Bake
For this special recipe, I went to "The American Country Inn and Bed and Breakfast Cookbook" (Rutledge Hill Press, 1987). My cousin, Ann Romines, sent me the book, which had been her own gift to her mother nearly 20 years ago. It is one of those cookbooks in which you can always find a special recipe, especially for company. Most are suitable for breakfast or brunch but often can be used for a lunch or a light evening meal. The 1,700 recipes come from more than 500 inns across the nation. Tho...
Your Office Coach ; Don't Blame Boss for Poor Review
Q: On her recent performance review, my sister was rated "below expectations." Her boss said she took too long to complete a project. But this wasn't her fault. She had a lot of computer problems. Management changes created confusion, and her co-workers weren't cooperative. Now she's on probation with a warning that her current project must be done on time. It's not clear what will happen if she doesn't meet the deadline.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Games in this year's NCAA Tournament have often presented battles between styles, with the team that controls tempo going a long way toward determining a winner. But when Louisville meets Tennessee in the second game of tomorrow's regional semifinals at Bobcats Arena, that game will feature teams with very similar sentiments about playing with their feet pressed hard on the accelerator.

Job Seekers Put Web Sites to Work
MIAMI - Miguel Merino's online resume has the usual rundown of work experience and education. But the University of Miami music performance major takes it a step further by letting visitors listen to his tracks, read critics' reviews, see a list of upcoming gigs and watch videos of his performances. "It's the first time I've had my own Web site that I've put some work into," said Merino, 22. And it's worth the $20 a month as a personal promotion tool, he said: "It's super important."
Wolfgang's Kitchen ; Cooking Steak Indoors Is a Breeze
We're in the middle of a steak-eating renaissance. I see it in the popularity of my Cut steakhouses in Beverly Hills and Las Vegas, not to mention the number of people who love to order steaks in my other restaurants. When it comes to cooking at home, though, steak seems more seasonal. People wait until the weather is warm enough for them to throw steaks on the outdoor grill. And that's a shame, because steaks are actually easy to cook indoors.
Senne On Another Level ; `Typical' Outing Doesn't Surprise Home Crowd.
MINNEAPOLIS - Yesterday morning, Jim Sonju, Aaron Senne's coach for seven seasons of high school and summer baseball, called and left a voicemail on Senne's phone. "I said, `It's got to feel good waking up in Minnesota again knowing that you're going to go at least 4 for 4,' " Sonju said.
