A letter handwritten by Hank Aaron early in his professional career sold for $24,150 yesterday at Hunt Auctions in Exton, Pa., setting what is believed to be a record for a modern player's penned note.

The letter dated Nov. 22, 1951, is written to Syd Pollock, the former owner of the Indianapolis Clowns of the Negro Leagues.
