Editor, the Tribune: There is not a doubt in my mind that the proposed anti-gay marriage amendment to the U.S. Constitution is a moral issue with profound implications for religious freedom in this country.

My parents' church has been performing same-sex union ceremonies for years and would love for those marriages which is what they truly are, no matter what the GOP says to be recognized by law. Why? Because they follow the teachings of a man who believed love was more blessed than condemnation and that, as one church member so eloquently put it, "God doesn't make junk."
