The Columbia Housing Authority is stepping up its fight against a bedbug infestation at Paquin Tower that has escalated since it was noticed in March.

Housing authority CEO Phil Steinhaus said the initial infestation this spring likely broke out when either a guest of resident occupied a unit and introduced the bedbugs or when a resident brought in used furniture from the street that already was infested.
