JEFFERSON CITY -- A week after checks ended for the long-term unemployed, the Senate finally ended a filibuster blocking those benefits.
A deal struck between Senate President Pro Tem Rob Mayer, R- Dexter, and Sen. Jim Lembke, R-St. Louis, and the other opponents ended a six-week filibuster that had blocked the extension.
