When Jack Rader decided not to renew the lease of Shiloh Bar & Grill, the local developer had plans to give the place a "face- lift," let two of his children run it for a year and then redevelop the site.

But when work started Jan. 3, Rader found himself in the midst of a full-blown restoration, and now he says his 21-year-old son, Jay, and 23-year-old daughter, Katie, will have to run the business for at least three years to make the project pay off.
