Berry Good Dessert Needs No Oven Time

Summary

Berries are in season, but it's too hot to make cobbler. This summer dessert doesn't need baking. Bernadette Dryden's recipe, from her new cookbook, "Cooking Wild in Missouri," is made with blackberries and blueberries, but raspberries also could be added.

Dryden notes, "If you have a pudding basin, pull it out for use in this pudding of British origin. Otherwise, a glass bowl works well because it allows you to see patches of bread that need to absorb juice. Another bonus is that this can be made a day or two in advance and is just as delicious."
