Here comes Peter Cottontail. Easter arrives at the end of this year's spring break. I'm sure preparations are already under way for the celebration. What is unclear to me is how a fluffy rabbit carrying colored eggs became synonymous with one of the holiest days of the Christian calendar. Fortunately, one facet of Easter that remains intact is the tradition of friends and family gathering together to celebrate the holy day.

Ham is often associated with Easter celebrations. A good-size ham is a fairly economical way to feed a large group. In the days before refrigeration, hams were dry-cured as a method of preservation.
