Unless the Boone County Commission agrees to negotiate a "more equitable" method of distributing road tax funds to municipalities, the matter could become a source of litigation.

Gary Reidel, representing the Centralia Special Road District, said after last night's meeting of Boone County mayors that his road district is "probably more likely" to engage the services of a Mexico, Mo., law firm to challenge a proposed new formula for distributing road tax funds.
