A car accident sheared off the top of a gas meter near the corner of University Avenue and Ninth Street today, causing a gas leak that shut down traffic and forced people to evacuate from two buildings.
At about 1:20 p.m., motorist Teresa Leatherman, 39, of Columbia collided with a parked vehicle behind the Flying Cow Shirt Co., pushing it into a garbage Dumpster, which sheared off the top of a gas meter.See the full content of this document
