In a Tribune story Sunday by reporter Kat Hughes, Fourth Ward Councilman Jerry Wade asked for a report on the possibility of prohibiting cell phone use while driving. The report, prepared by Columbia Police Chief Randy Boehm, was presented at an Oct. 15 Columbia City Council meeting.
Boehm cited many obstacles to crafting a law that would prohibit drivers from talking on the phone. One problem: There is little data to support it.
