More than 450 comments from the public prompted Columbia Water and Light to draft a new route for some transmission lines in the southwest part of the city.
The department unveiled the new route during a presentation before the Columbia City Council meeting last night. The new plan doesn't have a specific path yet, but it would route the largest 161- kilovolt line outside the city limits.
