Editor, the Tribune: I've taken my time thinking about the Tribune's political cartoon linking President George W. Bush's colonoscopy with placement of his head.
I tend to dislike political cartoons whatever their flavor; there is a strangeness, a kind of meanness, that permits incivility and hilarity at prominent or unusual physical features, patterns of speech or actions.They remind me of grade-school bullies poking fun at a child with a lisp or too much weight, only now in a public forum.See the full content of this document
