Editor, the Tribune: I am writing to support Chris Kelly for state representative in the 24th District. Chris has relevant experience as an associate court judge, chair of the Missouri Labor and Industrial Relations Commission and longtime service in the Missouri legislation. He will be especially effective in issues of higher education.

The reality is that Missouri consistently ranks between 45th and 50th in the nation in funding our public colleges and universities. Some of our best college teachers are leaving because of funding problems. In fact, every state that borders Missouri has better funding in higher education.
