HOUSTON - Nearly one-third of 4,400 Texas teenage drivers routinely have talked on a cell phone, and a quarter of them surveyed by the Texas Transportation Institute said they repeatedly have written and received text messages on wireless devices while driving.
The results of the largest survey of young Texas drivers by the institute, part of the Texas A&M System, also show teenagers from rural school districts are more likely to be using the distracting communications technology than their counterparts in urban districts.See the full content of this document
