Summary
The Columbia City Council last night appointed local engineer Matthew Vander Tuig to the influential Planning and Zoning Commission after several times extending the application deadline in the past three months to recruit a varied pool of applicants. Eventually 13 people applied for the single open seat on the commission.
Vander Tuig ranked highest in votes when council members each chose their top five. A senior project engineer at Trabue, Hansen & Hinshaw Inc., he told council members he missed being involved with the public process after leaving jobs with the Boone County Public Works Department and a quasi-public water authority in the Florida Keys.See the full content of this document
