Summary
It's been three short years since M.I.A. - formerly known as Maya Arulpragasam - last wound up the hipster crowd. At the time, her debut album, "Arular," sounded fresh and innovative. With some over- the-top blog-bolstering, the album sparked several dancehall hits, most notably the fierce and funky "Galang." Obviously, hopes were tremendously high for Kala, her recently released follow-up.
