I would have given anything to really know what was going through the minds of my two oldest sons. Drew, our 4-year-old daredevil, silently nodded his head when I asked him if he was having fun. And Josh, our cautious 6-year-old, told me repeatedly that he wanted to do it again. But their faces seemed to say something different.
As I watched the daredevil from the back of the boat, his eyes narrowed and he clenched his teeth tightly -- as if his only goal was to hold on for dear life. And Mr. Cautious also appeared like he really wasn't sure how much fun he was having. There were many times when both boys pointed their thumbs down, signaling our driver to slow the boat.
