A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper from Boonville was arrested Friday by Columbia police on suspicion of stalking his former girlfriend.

Donald Wayne Burnett, 54, a sergeant with the highway patrol, was taken into custody at about 5:30 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant for stalking after the woman, who works in Columbia, contacted police, Columbia police Capt. Brad Nelson said.
