Summary
Columbia's historic buildings are standing reminders of the city's past. "It has to do with history and our identity. Without the physical part of history, we're no different than anyplace else," said Brian Pape, an architect and former member of the Columbia Historic Preservation Commission.
Since 1999, the Columbia Historic Preservation Commission has selected about 10 properties each year to add to its list of notable historic properties.
