Summary
I recently found myself glued to the television night after night watching instant celebrities run around in circles, dance and flip across a stage, wrestle and punch each other into submission, then break into tears every time the national anthem was played. And that was just during last week's Democratic National Convention.
The action was even more compelling earlier this month during the Beijing Olympics, when athletes from all across the globe dazzled us for the better part of two weeks. Who will ever forget Michael Phelps swimming his way to eight gold medals? Or our women's gymnastics team hanging tough with those nasty Chinese second- graders?
