JEFFERSON CITY -- The Missouri Housing Development Commission won't have to move to the state capitol, but it will be in danger of losing a big chunk of its bank account under a bill approved Tuesday in the Missouri House.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Chris Kelly, D-Columbia, originally required that the commission move its offices from Kansas City, where it employs 80 people, and St. Louis, where it employs 40 people. That section was removed by the House, but provisions remain requiring the executive director to live within 40 miles of the capitol and making the commission subject to appropriations and a limit on how much money it can spend.See the full content of this document
