Summary
In regard to the various crimes some members of the armed forces are alleged to have committed recently in Iraq, the fact is that we don't know at this point what the truth is. We know what the accusations are, but accusations can be true or false. Therefore, any comment on the matter is nothing more than speculation and gossip, neither of which belongs in a newspaper.
I have been somewhat amused, however, by how often people here in the United States talk about the "tremendous stress" our soldiers and Marines are under. I doubt that any of them are anywhere close to the stress levels of the men who landed in Normandy or defended the Pusan Perimeter in Korea.See the full content of this document
