LAWRENCE, Kan. -- If it took the Missouri basketball team little more than 20 minutes to trick fans watching back across the border into believing it had a chance to finally, improbably, change 11 years of misfortune and frustration against archrival Kansas inside Allen Fieldhouse, it needed less than half that time to show them otherwise.

The 19th-ranked Tigers played nearly even with the second-ranked Jayhawks throughout the first half here last night and went into the locker room down only four. But after creeping within a bucket just over a minute into the second half, it all unraveled for Mike Anderson's team.
