Editor, the Tribune: Bravo to Gordon Lamb for speaking his piece on the injustice to our education system caused by the proposed anti- cloning amendment! Not only does the research done in the less-than- five-year-old, multimillion-dollar, partially NASA-funded Bond Life Sciences Center bring in millions of dollars worth of research grants, it has helped distinguish the University of Missouri from other Division 1 universities in the country, therefore increasing enrollment, and has provided numerous new jobs for the Columbia economy.

Not only am I a University of Missouri-Columbia alumna who has profited greatly from the extended research and outstanding education I got from the university, I also am a person who has watched people I love die from horrible diseases. How is it possible to look at someone in total agony because of cancer or spinal injuries and not want to do everything possible to help them?
