Annie Bersagel of Lakeville, Minn., made her half-marathon debut yesterday and captured the USA Women's Half Marathon Championship at the Hospital Hill Run in Kansas City.

Bersagel's time of 1 hour, 14 minutes, 36 seconds was good for a 9-second win over Jenny Crain of Milwaukee.
