West Hansen of Texas and David Kelly of California completed the race in 36 hours, 48 minutes. The pair of veteran paddlers shattered the previous tandem record by about two hours and narrowly missed setting the all-time mark for the shortest time completing the 340- mile race from Kansas City to St. Charles.
