The Missouri Theatre's grand opening events didn't end last week with the Tony Bennett concert.There are still more events designed to help Columbia's families celebrate the newly renovated 1928 building at 203 S. Ninth St. The Web site is at www.motheatre.org. Here is the lineup:
- "Reel Vintage," 6:30 p.m. today features the first movie ever played at the Missouri Theatre, "Steamboat Bill, Jr.," starring Buster Keaton. Charles Digges Sr., who attended the theater's 1928 opening night at age 9, will accompany the third-grade winner of the essay contest "Why I Heart the Arts." Stan Kann of the Fox Theatre in St. Louis will accompany the movie with an original score for the organ. Win prizes for the best 1920s-era costume. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger.See the full content of this document
