Smart, dark and frequently hilarious, "The Host" pays tribute to classic creature features of old. Though far from perfect, this South Korean import can be a lot of fun.
Like the atomic mutants of the Cold War monster craze in the 1950s, the creature in "The Host" is the indirect result of man mucking with nature. In this case, the back story is based on a true 2000 incident, in which a U.S. military employee ordered a Korean subordinate to pour hundreds of bottles of formaldehyde into the sewer system that leads to the Han River.See the full content of this document
