The University of Missouri plans to redesign a popular undergraduate course as part of a new statewide plan to make large lecture classes more efficient while improving student performance.
The UM System is leading the initiative, which is funded with a $250,000 grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The Next Generation Learning Challenges funds will pay for a consultant to work with all 13 public four-year universities in the state to each redesign a specific course.
