It was a day of celebration as Missouri dedicated the Memorial Stadium field to Coach Don Faurot hours before the men's basketball team opened the Hearnes Center.

The football team apparently thought that also meant a day of giving. The Tigers lost seven turnovers in a 28-17 loss to Kansas in the regular-season finale - Missouri Coach Al Onofrio's second loss to the Jayhawks in his second year.
