Summary

Editor, the Tribune: When I was a Columbia City Council member, I often found it very difficult to balance and represent the many diverse interests and concerns of the various neighborhoods in the Sixth Ward. One neighborhood that was a microcosm of these challenges was the East Campus, with its sometimes volatile mix of students, landlords and homeowners. From liberal to conservative and everything in between, East Campus is a tough place to find a consensus on just about any issue.
