University of Missouri-Columbia fraternity Alpha Gamma Sigma is taking heat over a plan to transform a vacant building near campus into apartments and retail that might include a coffee shop or deli.

"It's just a really bad precedent to have a fraternity proceed with commercial development in Greektown," said Steve Frayn, a 1973 MU graduate and member of Sigma Pi fraternity, whose chapter house is next door. "This part of town has been residential for 100 years."
