Editor, the Tribune: Hank Waters has added his voice May 8 to those calling for the president to conduct early warning terrorist surveillance systems via the court system ("Wiretapping reform: Is it that Hard?").
That would be a mistake. Terrorist surveillance techniques like those being used by the National Security Agency (NSA) pose a threat only to potential terrorists, not to the privacy of the vast majority of law-abiding American citizens.
