Editor, the Tribune: It's been said that we get the leadership we deserve. What has happened to us that we continue to elect leaders eager to have us believe that our way of life can be threatened in any way by loosely organized ideologues with nothing more than terror as a tactic?Withmore military might than any country in human history, most of which is focused on Iraq, we are incapable of even beginning to change the way of life in Iraq.It's just as bad now as it was under its former tyrant.

What is it about our current way of life that would leave us feeling so vulnerable, easily terrorized and manipulated by our own leaders?Is that the part of our "way of life" that we want to preserve?Is it worth trading the lives of our young and genuine civil rights for?Americans should be aware that anyone on the planet can visit the Web site www.ushistory.org/declaration/ document/ index.htm, hold the principles of our Declaration of Independence up against what we are doing in Iraq and come to their own conclusions.
