P&Z Abruptly Rejects Stadium/63 Development

Summary


Tensions mounted last night as the time passed during a Columbia Planning and Zoning Commission meeting that lasted more than four hours.

After hearing three hours of testimony from both the developer of the proposed Crosscreek Center at Stadium Boulevard and Highway 63 and the many neighbors opposing it, the commission sided with the residents and voted 5-3 against not only the automobile dealership proposed for the development, but the entire development plan itself. The city council will consider the plan at a future meeting.
