Police to Beef Up Security During Roots 'N Blues

Summary


Fights among teens and a handful of police citations put a damper on downtown festivals this summer, but law enforcement officials are taking some extra steps to ensure a smooth Roots 'N Blues 'N BBQ weekend.

"Last year was very successful, and we want it to be again," Columbia Police Capt. Zim Schwartze said. "We expect a lot more people, and we just want everyone to enjoy themselves, drink responsibly and act reasonable."
