New Police Training Emphasizes Respect

Summary


Police say every instance of contact with the community helps either build or destroy the relationship between the two. Expert training this week is expected to help the Columbia Police Department improve those interactions.

Former Kansas City police Officer Jack Colwell and current Sgt. Chip Huth today are introducing their "Unleashing Respect" project to Columbia police leaders. Based on the principle of integrity, the program encourages the belief that an officer's work should be reinforced by courage and expressed as unconditional and positive respect for all.
