It was an eventful 2007 for Carl Edwards. The Columbia native - and former Tribune paperboy - ran away with the Busch Series championship, won three races on the Nextel Cup circuit and finished ninth in the Cup standings. He also had a YouTube moment, when his confrontation with teammate Matt Kenseth, which culminated in Edwards feigning a punch at Kenseth, became an Internet sensation. Edwards reflected on his year in an interview with Tribune sports editor Joe Walljasper.

A: It's huge. To be able to win any championship is a big deal - local track championships or something as big as a Busch championship, they all feel really good, because that's the whole year. Winning a race is the first step, and winning a championship is the next thing. So that felt good.
