ST. LOUIS -- For much of last night's Braggin' Rights game, Missouri's resemblance to the high-flying, ninth-ranked basketball team it was purported to be was purely coincidental.

In the paint, the gritty but gravity-affirming Ricardo Ratliffe couldn't elevate his 6-foot-8 frame high enough to dunk successfully. On the perimeter, MU's best player, Marcus Denmon, was blending into the scenery. Their teammates' attempts at offensive aggression resulted mostly in charging fouls, turnovers and pleading looks toward unsympathetic officials. Free refills were offered at the Missouri basket for any Illinois player who wished to grab an offensive rebound.
