Editor, the Tribune: We are still arguing about God, which might be because we have not defined religious freedom sufficiently since Jefferson's religious liberty bill passed in Virginia in January 1786 - which asserted that no citizen should be forced to pay for his own religion or someone else's.
The 1962 school prayer case did not take away volunteer praying but forced prayer upon other students whose parents objected. Many mainline church groups agreed with this. If you disagree with the Supreme Court, what is your definition of religious freedom?See the full content of this document
