In Columbia Public Schools, students found to have head lice are sent home for treatment and can't return to class until they are lice-free. That policy soon might change, though.
The lice policy is under review, with a goal of aligning it with those recommended by groups including the National Association of School Nurses and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
