An elderly couple awoke early this morning to the sound of an intruder breaking into their home.
At about 2:30 a.m. two residents in the 300 block of Crown Point heard a thumping sound coming from the basement. Believing it was a deer, the woman, 77, walked into the kitchen, turned on the light and saw a shirtless man coming up the basement steps.
