Summary


It might have been the most dismal postgame press conference during Gary Pinkel's six-year stay at Missouri, but there was a silver lining to emerge from Friday's Sun Bowl. Two actually, and they were both sitting to Pinkel's immediate right.

Of the 561 yards of offense the Tigers totaled during their 39- 38 loss to Oregon State, quarterback Chase Daniel and tailback Tony Temple accounted for 514. After suffering from the flu earlier in the week, Temple ripped off the best game of his career and finished with 194 yards and two touchdowns on just 20 touches. Daniel was as efficient as usual, throwing for 330 yards and two touchdowns. It was the most prolific day for the MU offense against a Division I-A opponent this season. The Tigers averaged close to a first down - 8.6 yards to be exact - on every play.
