Smoke Kills Pet Bird in $50,000 House Fire

Summary


Firefighters responded early this morning to a fire that damaged a home in north Columbia and killed a pet bird, according to a news release from the Columbia Fire Department.

Columbia firefighters were dispatched to 4101 Deer St. about 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters saw moderate to heavy smoke and a fire in the home's kitchen, the news release said.
