Sonic Robbed As Employee Opens Store

Summary


A robber who implied he had a handgun struck a Columbia Sonic restaurant early today.

Around 5 a.m., police responded to the robbery report at 708 Business Loop 70 E. A male Sonic employee told officers he had arrived to open the business when a robber approached him from behind and demanded he enter the store and give him money. The robber implied he had a gun but never displayed one, police said.
