Editor, the Tribune: According to a recent story, state Treasurer Sarah Steelman's gubernatorial "campaign" confirmed that Steelman accepted money without reporting it. Silly me, I didn't know you could do that. The money was from an embryonic stem cell research group. "The campaign" said it would amend her campaign reports to fix what "the campaign" described as a clerical error. Until May 20, "the campaign" denied ever receiving the check.

"The campaign" made the mistake, and "the campaign" will correct it. I'm just pleased to see "the campaign" step up and take responsibility. That's what defines who we are!
