ST. LOUIS - With no public discussion, the University of Missouri Board of Curators adopted a resolution yesterday saying the UM system would abide by whatever conditions are attached to building funds generated by the sale of student loan assets.

The unanimous decision, which was quickly adopted at the end of the board's two-day meeting here, seemed designed to reassure lawmakers that embryonic stem cell research would not take place in new buildings erected with the sale's proceeds.
