A series of violent incidents last night and early today leaves Columbia police with no arrests and three suspects to identify.

Just after 10 p.m. yesterday, a 26-year-old man was cut twice with a box cutter while trying to free his girlfriend from a purse snatcher in Bethel Park, 4500 Bethel St. Columbia police spokeswoman Officer Jessie Haden said the couple had agreed to meet at the park, and the man arrived to find his girlfriend in a struggle for her purse. He was cut once on his right forearm and once on the abdomen during the fight.
