The animals in our program come to us from many different places. Most are from individuals in Columbia and the surrounding area. We also take in animals from breeders that have been closed down, animals from "collectors," animals from shelters that are at capacity and at times assist the police in taking dogs seized for different reasons.

At the present time we are working with a breeder that is closing her kennel and needs to place all her dogs. She contacted Happy Tails because of our reputation of being honest, caring and totally devoted to the animals in our program. So, for the next few months, we will be taking in 16-20 purebred Cavalier King Charles spaniels. Our program isn't equipped to take them all at once, so we will be accepting them in small groups. All will stay at my home before being placed with their forever family. They will be closely monitored, evaluated and their vet work completed before placement.
